More information provided by Transgender Network members:
PFLAG provides support, education, and advocacy for the whole LGBT community; Transgender Network specifically focuses on support for transgender people and their parents, families, and friends. It provides education on issues unique to the transgender community, and focuses on issue advocacy to ensure equal rights for the transgender community at local and national levels.
Everyone across the gender spectrum is welcome. Whether you are Trans-identified yourself, a family member or friend of someone who is, or a community member who would like to understand and support the trans-people who live and work here, you are welcome to come meet others. We will talk about the issues trans-people face, discuss our involvement for equal rights on local and national levels, celebrate gender affirmation, expression and transition, educate ourselves and others about Trans, and help friends and family cope. We may tell of our own experiences, and you will always be able to share yours, and offer support.
